What storms do to cooling towers
High winds, flying debris and flood water can take a cooling tower out of service in a single night.
Fan decks and fan stacks
High winds can blow fan decks and fan stacks off the tower, leaving cells unable to move air.
Damaged fill
Wind and debris can damage or dislodge fill, so the tower can’t reject as much heat.
Flooded motors and pumps
Flood water can reach fan motors and circulation pumps, putting them out of service.
Power loss
Without power, fans and pumps stop, and your cooling water stops with them.
Temporary cooling bridges the gap
Rental Towers, Pumps, Heat Exchangers carry the load while the permanent tower is repaired.
Replacement parts after the storm
Get the parts that hurricanes break most, without waiting on long lead times.
Critical parts on hand
We stock a substantial inventory of the most critical parts needed to keep large cooling towers up and running: fan stacks, gearboxes, motors and structural FRP parts. These are the parts that can suffer long lead times, which is exactly when you can’t afford to wait.
Our crews can install replacement parts as part of a repair, and we replace fill as part of our fill media work.
Cooling Tower Resources (CTR)
CTR stocks more than 17,000 cooling tower parts, with over $15 million in ready-to-ship inventory, from Gulf Coast locations in Baytown, Texas and Krotz Springs, Louisiana, plus Chickasha, Oklahoma.
From fan stacks, fill, drift eliminators and gearboxes to structural FRP, treated lumber, casing panels, water distribution and hardware, CTR can ship on one purchase order. CTR also fabricates custom fiberglass fan stacks and components from your drawings.

How fast can rental cooling be installed?
Most installs are complete in under 5 days. Timing depends on the site, access and how quickly tie-in points can be made ready.
How much rental cooling do we need?
Tell us your load in tons or GPM and your hot and cold water temperatures. The fleet is mostly 1,000-ton Tower Tech modules, plus 400-, 600- and 800-ton units, and modules join together to match the load. The max inlet temperature is 125°F.
What power do the rental pumps need?
Our electric circulation pumps come in 75, 125 and 200 HP and need 480 V power on site. Tell us what power is available when you call.
Can you help with the permanent tower too?
Yes. We inspect and repair cooling towers, and replacement parts are available from our stock and from our sister company, Cooling Tower Resources.
Do you support data centers?
Yes. Rental towers paired with plate-and-frame heat exchangers keep a closed cooling loop isolated from tower water. See data center cooling rentals.
How is a hurricane rental billed?
Rentals are billed on a recurring 28-day rental period. Mobilization and freight, installation labor, per diem, and demobilization are billed separately.
